Back to Old School blogging…my Master Class

March 21, 2017 By Phillippe Houston Leave a Comment

After years of writing for a living, I am going back to writing about writing. Old school. On this blog.

Why am I doing this? Well most of it is inspired by what I am NOT seeing around me. I am not seeing people write effectively in long form anymore. We live in a world of tweets, short attentions spans and 140 character punch lines where people craft sensational headlines to prey on the curiousity or basest needs of those who chance by.

To me it is the lowest common denominator. And I want to get back to good. Back to my roots. Back to crafting a blog old school. Sure, I may have to get the word out via social media, but I am betting that people will STAY for the writing.

Wordsmithing is a lost art. The creativity of pounding out quality writing can be taught. It can be passed on and that is my intention with this blog. I will use real world examples, but at the end of the day the goals is to create a Master Class in the persuasive art of writing.

Freedom

Freedom is not in having things, for they can be as restrictive as not.

Freedom means at its root the ability to choose our reactions to things.

When all else is stripped away we can always choose that reaction. Nothing can take that away from us.
